It’s back!

My hair is growing again and my bald spots are gone. And I owe a lot of it to this lady next to me.
Dr. Semone Rochlin is a plastic surgeon in Scottsdale, Arizona.
When I started losing my hair, going to a plastic surgeon like Dr. Rochlin wasn’t something that crossed my mind.  But it sure should have been.

Scary Scenario in ‘16
This picture shows my scalp and just how much hair I’d lost--notice my receding hair line, too. In 2016, after a taking an anti-biotic, it began coming out in clumps. I lost half of it. Turns out the pill was a chemo-drug but used off-label for other ailments.

PRP
Now fast forward to September 2019 and Dr. Rochlin. She began doing PRP Hair Restoration on my scalp and it worked—and still is!
After the first treatment, my hair came in quickly. Today after my fourth treatment—just last week-- it’s fuller, healthier and shinier. Yay!
Click here for details on what exactly is involved in PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injections. It’s an hour-long, in-office procedure. In essence, they take a syringe of your own blood, spin it in a centrifuge separating it into three parts. The blood rich plasma -the good stuff—or as Dr. Rochlin calls it “liquid gold”-- is then injected back into your scalp. By the way, that’s also how the “vampire” facial works. And yes, it stings a little going in--you can see it in my face. But it's worth it.

Friendly & Fun!
Dr. Rochlin’s office is like no other I’ve visited. First off, I was greeted by one of her precious companions—Lola, the Sheep-a-doodle.  Lola helps to keep patients calm during treatments.
As for Dr. Rochlin it’s easy to stay feel at ease in her presence too. She’s extremely warm, comforting and supportive. At my appointments, I feel like I’m sitting down with a good friend.
 How Many Treatments
Dr. Rochlin says we should all have three initial PRP Hair treatments within about 6 months. After that, we might be done as the PRP continues to work.  As for me, I’m not taking any chances of losing my hair again. So, I’m opting for two maintenance PRPs a year just to be on the safe side.

Hair Loss
When I lost my hair, I began going to wig stores. I tried on full wigs & pieces. I hated the feeling and the look. Some women look fabulous and I can’t even tell they’re wearing one. But a wig just isn’t for me. In fact, something the owner of one store said, scared me: “You’re getting older. You aren’t going to be growing hair anymore so you might as well get used to the idea of wearing wigs.” Ouch. Quite frankly, I left her store with a sick feeling in my stomach but also determination. I felt empowered me and emboldened to keep looking for natural solutions to get my hair to grow.
Grow Old & Grow Hair!
I’m so glad I didn’t give up looking for options. If you are losing your hair, if your hair is thinning or simply not looking as healthy as it once used to—don’t get discouraged, don’t give up. Help is out there.  Dr. Rochlin can help!
And by the way, I have done other things that helped my hair growth—I’ll be writing about those again, too.  But nothing sparked the growth and improvement like the PRP.
Click here for Dr. Semone Rochlin’s Web site. She can help you get your hair back and will make it a fun and even enjoyable time in the process. Lola will help, too!
Dr. Rochlin is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who does everything from Botox & fillers to breast augmentation to lipo-suction and much more.
Dr. Rochlin has offices in Scottsdale and Gilbert!
