I’m embarrassed, humiliated, ashamed and fatter. My jeans are tighter.
Okay, okay—a bit of a drama queen--but still..sigh!
I had a great plan--sugar free for 30 days. I was so close. But then “it” happened: A trip to Costco would derail me.
I was having some peeps over on July 4th and couldn’t pass up an apple pie. No temptation for me---easy as “pie”.
Here’s how the “crime” went down:
That humungous thing won’t fit in my ‘fridge & I’m forced to cut it up.
Oops, I get some on my fingers--darn! I lick it off. Then plop--some on the counter.
Five hundred calories of Dutch Apple Pie licks, plops & splatters later— I get the rest stuffed in the ‘fridge.
That sugar, butter & flour concoction taunted me!! Blimy.
But wait—I do have some good news out of all of this and I’m surprised. You see, I might not have used restraint at first but I did… eventually. Here’s what I mean:
Typically, I wouldn’t have stopped with the pie mess. I might have gone on to M&Ms & more.
But I stopped. Yep, stopped right after the pie calamity.
Today would’ve marked 30 days off sugar: (I’ll add an asterisk by my name!). So, I’m continuing on-- 60, maybe 90 days!
