In the Kitchen With Lynda.
It’s funny that I hang in the kitchen a lot because I’ve set it on fire---twice. Yeah, it wasn’t pretty! But that’s another blog post down the road.
So, today: Creature. Habit. Me!  I go through uninterrupted fanatical food phases. I’ll eat the same thing over and over again—for weeks at a time.
Salmon patties, chicken on the grill, salads & hardboiled eggs & chicken---I typically eat things like this repeatedly for days on end.But the longest streak I’ve ever had with a meal is---drum roll please-- my lentil soup! This love of lentils phase started when I got sick at Christmas. Chicken soup is what I craved. So, I added red lentils. Yum!
I ate the concoction for 3 weeks straight!  It’s packed with protein, fiber & vitamins.
Lentils are seeds from the legume family. They are 25% protein so you don’t even need the chicken.  There are about 225 calories in a cup of cooked lentils. They’re also rich in polyphenols. Some of them have strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects. So, soup’s on! Recipe at the top!
BTW: I’m not alone in repeating meals—so did the King of Rock and Roll.
Elvis ate a peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch every single day.
Do you change your meals every day or are you a bit like me---crazy?
